Eric Puente is a seasoned drummer and percussionist with over three decades of experience in the New York music scene. He has performed on Broadway and toured extensively throughout the US, Canada and UK.
In the orchestral realm, Eric has contributed his percussion and drum set talents to ensembles such as the Northern Westchester Symphony Orchestra and the Cortlandt Chamber Orchestra, participating in numerous performances during the 2008 - present seasons.
Eric's jazz endeavors include collaborations with the Northern Westchester Jazz Collaborative, Michelle Walker, Mala Waldron, Cary Brown, Sebastian Noelle, Jay Azzolina, Jon Sholle, Jon Burr, Marion LoGuidice, and many others. He co-founded the Eric Puente Jazz Quartet with saxophonist Rich Williams, performing on-going live monthly residencies.
In the pop and rock scenes, Eric has been a sought-after session and live drummer, working with artists such as The Slambovian Circus Of Dreams, Sloan Wainwright, Professor Louie and The Crowmatix, Jack Grace, Pat Wictor, KJ Denhert, The Library, Lara Herscovitch, David Massengill, Catie Curtis, Ellis Paul, Peter Calo, The Kennedys, Red Molly, Milton, Joseph FireCrow, Peter Fish, Marc Black, Mark Barden, Robert Hill Band, Steve Kirkman, Brooke Campbell, Mark Spencer, Chris Barron, John Hall, The Voyces, Kramer, John Guth, Ben Freed, David Fagin (The Rosenbergs), Marc Von Em, and many others.
Eric's extensive recording experience spans over 30 years in studios throughout New York City and the Tri-State Area. He has worked under the direction of producers, collaborating with record label staff on post-production marketing and promotion to achieve the desired end product.
His educational background includes studies in percussion and jazz performance at the Hoff Barthelson School of Music in Scarsdale, NY. He has further honed his craft by studying with renowned drummers such as Joe Morello, Mike Clark, Adam Nussbaum, John Riley, Tony Jefferson, and Joe Cusatis.
